The pavilion is 57.5 meters tall with nine storeys, and from the top visitors can look over the Gan River and Nanchang. Highlights include the main pavilion, the Gan River scenery, the "Seeking Dreams at Tengwang Pavilion" night performance and Wang Bo's poetry inscriptions. One of the three great towers of Jiangnan, it stands beside the Gan River and was made famous by Wang Bo's preface; climbing it gives views of the river and sky of "sunset and a lone duck flying together," and the night performance is staged here.
